Description
'Penny Lane' is a very reliable performer, providing a long season of delightful flowers. This stunning climbing rose looks amazing sprawled against the front of a property or across an archway.
Light blush outer petals darken towards the centre of the flower, varying from pink to apricot with a light intensity - what a show!
The scent is fruity and delicate, yet grows stronger on humid summer evenings. Growing up to an impressive 3m, 'Penny Lane' is the exceptional garden addition you have been searching for.
Named for the famous Beatles song 'Penny Lane', written by Paul McCartney in 1967, with the rose released in 1998 to commemorate the centenary of the first transmission of radio signals.
'A delicate shade often described as honey champagne. There is a little splash of pink in the early stages of the flower but this later fades towards white... Long lasting flower able to withstand all but the heaviest rainstorms. Individual blooms have a moderate scent with a musk base. En masse the blooms perfume the evening air.
'This has to be among the most productive climbers. There will be many flowers for many weeks every season... A very well behaved climber... Tolerant of a wide range of conditions... Hardiness is one of its virtues... A rose that will always perform well.' - Philip Harkness
Supplied as a 3L pot. Please note at certain times of the year this variety may be supplied in a 4L pot.
We always endeavour to provide beautifully formed plants; however, our roses will naturally start to lose their leaves from October to prepare for the colder months. Do not worry though, as they will flourish once again with leaves and buds in the spring. Please, make sure you consider the season when purchasing our remarkable roses for yourself or loved ones.
