A strong, reliable, and simply charming rose, ‘The Rob Burrow MND’ is just waiting to impress wherever planted across the garden.
With bushy and upright growth and dark green, glossy foliage, everything is set up perfectly for the show-stopping golden amber blooms to emerge across summer, and even into early autumn. Buds first form tinged with light green and soon transform into soft yellow blooms.
When the flowers are fully open, you will be amazed by the show of up to 40 attractive petals, which appear in a delightful shade of golden amber with the odd pink hue. This variety also benefits from a strong myrrh scent, and is very versatile to thrive whether planted in beds, borders, or large patio pots.
Supplied as a bare root rose, ready for planting.
Former Leeds Rhinos scrum-half Rob Burrow MBE was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in December 2019, just two years after ending his playing career by captaining Leeds to a record-extending eighth Super League Grand Final. MND is a disease suffered by an estimated 5,000 adults in the UK, with six people being diagnosed on average every day.
Rob soon became a patron of the MND Association, a charity focussed on improving access to care, funding research, and campaigning for people living with, or affect by, MND, with Rob leading extraordinary fund and awareness-raising efforts. In June 2024, Rob sadly died, four and a half years after his initial diagnosis.
We are proud to donate £2.50p from the sale of each rose to the MND Association, a registered charity in England and Wales (charity number 294354).
